Bloomfield, CT – Griffin Land is pleased to announce that Pilot Freight Services has signed a long term lease for 42,240 square feet of industrial space at 40 International Drive, Bloomfield, CT.  Construction of tenant improvements are underway, with delivery of the new and expanded facility targeted for early summer.  Pilot is relocating their facilities from East Granby, CT.

40 International Drive is a 98,840 square foot first class industrial building. Its steel frame and masonry construction, 26 foot clear height, state-of-the-art building systems, and abundant truck and employee parking make it a highly attractive building to modern industrial users.

“Pilot Freight Services needed to expand due to an increase in sales and logistics”, said Kim Gajewski, Regional Vice President of Pilot Freight Services.  “We wanted a state of the art building to provide our customers with the best service in the industry.  Griffin Land had just what we needed and they worked closely with us to ensure the move will be a smooth transition”.

“We are pleased to add another internationally recognized logistics company to New England Tradeport,” said Tim Lescalleet, Senior Vice President of Griffin Land, the company’s real estate division. “Pilot Freight’s move to Tradeport further exemplifies how our park has become the region’s epicenter for industrial users serving the New England and upstate New York regions.”

The signing of the lease was previously disclosed by Griffin Land’s parent, Griffin Land & Nurseries, Inc., in its Annual Report on Form 10-K.
